Beach Vacation Packing Ideas Part 2: Accessories

Keeping the sun off my head and a face is a critical component of any beach vacation!
I love options like the Joanna Straw Hat ($44), which are cute, packable and will work back home too.

NOTE: On March 12, 2017, Effortlessly with Roxy will be migrating to a new URL. Please update your bookmarks to http://effortlesslywithroxy.com (which already works if you want to start using it now!).

After that date, http://effortlessanthropologie.blogspot.com will no longer work.

Last week we talked about clothing ideas for your beach vacation, and today it’s time to talk accessories you should pack. From hats to cover-ups to shoes and beach/day bags, there are plenty of packable choices inside…

The L-Space Cover-Up Wrap ($120) has fringe detailing for airy movement, and looks great open or closed.
Be vacation-ready in the Pretty Pom Tassel Drop Earrings ($98), and then wear them to work back home!

For my boyfriend and I, our beach vacation getaways usually have 3 goals: relax, tan, and be as adventurous as possible! Packing for so many different activities can be challenging but my mindset is this: pack as much practical as you need, and then spend the rest of your space on the pretty.

With that in mind it’s time to pack this post full of the pretty! For this second post in the series, it’s all about accessories that can be multifunctional.

1 | I love cover-ups that can pull double-duty as day or evening dresses. For the beach and afterwards it doesn’t get much chicer than the Ananda Gisele Colorblock Caftan ($198).
2 | It doesn’t offer much sun protection but I saw several ladies wearing cover-ups similar to the Crochet Cover-Up Tunic ($68), and I think it’s great for around the pool or in the shade. It certainly is great for showing off your body!
3 | Fun multi-colored tassels along the bottom make the Linen Cover-Up Caftan ($91) a playful cover-up.
4 | Sometimes the wind catches my cover-up and creates a dramatic, eye-catching scene. I can’t think of a better cover-up to take advantage of that than the Lace Trim Ruana ($35), especially in the beautiful sky-toned blue.
5 | Fun sandals make beach vacations all the more fun! The Warrior Gladiator Sandals ($160) are a perfect example of this principle.
6 | Check out the salmon suede color of these beautiful, comfy perforated Garnet Perforated Ankle Strap Sandal ($195).
7 | Take a comfy wedge sandal, add a tassel, and I am SOLD! These lovely Ali Wedge Sandals ($100) are all-day wearable and would go with so many vacation outfits.
8 | Speaking of comfy, the Owen Leather Sandals ($100) are about as light as it gets.
9 | I really like the strap detail on the Melissa Sandal ($80), especially in the pretty blush color.
10 | Modern and fun, the Whimsy Wedge Sandals ($80) take accents to new heights!
11 | A little chunkier, pair the Lattela Wedge Sandal ($89) with a chambray dress (like this one or this one you can see on me here)
12 | I also totally dig the Carita Lace-Up Wedge Sandal ($110), which will be so easy to wear when you get back home too!
13 | Long yet lightweight, the Phoenix Earrings ($50) will be perfect for vacation and then great for evenings out back home.
14 | The gold-dusted are one shade of the Elle Drop Earrings ($55) that are tailor made for the beach!
15 | Picnics, carnivals or just because: all good reasons to wear the Summer Drop Earrings ($38).
16 | The Collette Ear Jackets ($95) will do well at the beach and beyond. I especially love the turquoise!
17 | Prefer smaller earrings or want to be a little less literal about your ear adornments? Then I’d go for the Sailors Knot’ Mini Stud Earrings ($48).
18 | At the other end of the spectrum are these Crystal Drop Earrings ($78), which are fun and bold.
19 | Bring to mind all the beachy blooms with the Blushing Blooms Drop Earrings ($78) adorning your ears.
20 | These Tassel Earrings ($28) are simple and perfect for any occasion, including vacation!
21 | The Nora Fan Necklace ($85) is the right size, weight and shape for easy travel.
22 | Make your neck extra cute anytime with the Elisa Openwork Pendant Necklace ($55) — especially shopping around town on vacation!
23 | Another small and delicate option is the Wishes Crystal Pendant Necklace ($55).
24 | Going a little more vacation-y, I love this Beaded Tassel Necklace ($35).
25 | This Cymbal Beaded Necklace ($45) will layer well over a high-neck or v-neck top.
26 | Whimsical, fun and eye-pleasing, the Chiffon Tie Necklace ($48) is an easy vacation take-along.
27 | Beach bag perfection that can also be your day bag is here in Sam Edelman’s Sierra Straw Tote ($198). I adore the orange version!!
28 |  The Gunnar Stripe Tote ($58) can be your work bag, beach bag, whatever! It keeps selling out but it also keeps popping back, so keep an eye out for this one.
29 | Say yes to functional beach with cute tassels in the Ibiza Woven Tote with Tassel Charms ($139).
30 | Or, if you prefer pom poms, there is the Capri Woven Tote with Pom Charms ($139).
31 | Cute and affordable, I’d get plenty of use out of the Beach Please Tote ($49).
32 | If your days will be spent around town rather than at the beach, I highly recommend the Dahlia Perforated Faux Leather Shoulder Bag ($69) — I love the white!
33 | Another vacation-size purse is the Small Love Leather Crossbody Bag ($195).
34 | Want a hat that will work at the beach or around town? I vote for this Straw Fedora ($18).
35 | I don’t really like words on clothing, but words on beach hats are great!!! The La Vie En Rose Hat ($88) is so cute!
36 | As is the Talk to the Sand Sun Hat ($475).
37 | I see women in cute one pieces wearing the equally cute 9 Villa Raffia Straw Hat ($230), and I wonder why I don’t yet have this hat for myself.

Next we’ll chat makeup and toiletries. You don’t need much to have room in your suitcase for other esssentials! Like, 35 outfits for a one week trip. 😉
