Breathe in the fresh air of new Sundance Catalog arrivals!

The Eyelet Envy Top ($78) is one of many items I immediately wishlisted from Sundance’s new arrivals.

How can a company all at once be so rugged, boho and feminine? I ask myself this every time I leaf through a Sundance catalog, cheerfully dog-earing multiple pages and loading up my wishlist and cart.

Take a break from your Monday and come see pretty new arrivals with me…

I swoon over the soft ruffles and print of the Lace Tracery Blouse ($138).

My first stop is usually shirts & tops because I can find a few to refresh outfits and pair with items I already own. There’s certainly no shortage of loveliness here…

Come warmer weather I could imagine the Lily’s Paramour Tee ($88) being in constant rotation.
A simple yet beautiful print on a flowy top are all it takes to make me smile at the Altamira Top ($118).
They had me at buttery soft leather! Then I noticed the fantastic eyelet details on this jacket.
The Hutton Leather Jacket ($348) and Emmaline Top ($138).

My wishlist is also overflowing with tops like:
1 | The Bougainvillea Bloom Cardigan ($138) which is so classic Anthro beautiful I’m almost crying.
2 | The Powderhorn Poncho ($138) — exactly what I want to walk around the Farmer’s Market in.
3 | Cashmere cowlneck perfection courtesy of the Simple Truths Cashmere Sweater ($198).
4 | The comfy and feminine-looking Edie Jacket ($128).
5 | The colorful delights of the Florabella Top ($68).
6 | The lacy arms of the All The Better Tee ($68).
7 | The yummy print down the placket of the Lines Of Symmetry Shirt ($118).
8 | The flattering, ruched goodness of the Raquel Top ($58).
9 | Good lord that lovely ‘Nile’ color of the Flourish Embroidered Top ($88).
10 | The many colors to love of the Gentle Graces Tank ($38).
11 | The many thoughtful details to love on the Angel Tank ($88).
12 | The perfect season-transitional makeup of the Mystiqua Top ($118).
13 | The weekend goodness of the Jamie Hi-Lo Tunic ($98).
14 | The super cute tulip hem of the Friends Always Tunic ($88).

I love the color palette and the mixed prints of the Chelsea Morning Dress ($168).

Here are the rest of the new arrivals at Sundance Catalog I’m enamored with currently:
1 | The perfect print mixing of the Chelsea Morning Dress ($168, above).
2 | Everday wearable pieces like the Eyelet Essence Dress ($138).
3 | Vacation-ready pieces such as the Destinations Dress ($138) — love!!
4 | Pieces with an embellished front and beautiful back like the Sweet Mystery Dress ($188).
5 | Seaside-ready instant outfits like the Sand Dollars Dress ($128).
6 | Colorful, classic shoes like the Channing Oxford Shoes ($185) in the carmel/red/silver/lux combo.
7 | Easy-going walkabout shoes a la the Kestrel Sneakers ($138).
8 | The Coralise Shoes ($188) for its cute, low heels.
9 | The Birch Leaf Boots ($298) because, well, droooooool.
10 | Emboridery and leather combine to make the temptation-launching Pressed Blossom Boots ($295).
11 | Bags, bags and more bags! I love so many at Sundance right now, beginning with the blue suede Austen Suede Bag ($115).
12 | A bucket bag with double straps sounds ideal to me, so I love the Duality Backpack Hobo Bag ($148).
13 | Though the Cara Bucket Bag ($398) makes one-arm slinging look good!
14 | More of that buttery soft leather appears in the Samara Hobo Bag ($248). Yum.
15 | The Whiskey & Rye Bag ($428) aims to prove that distressed leather can be just as appealing as the newer stuff.
16 | Love the mixed stud sizes on the Deborah Studded Hobo Bag ($598).

I know where my money is headed this spring!! Beautiful!!

OT… but I found a matching outfit for the Painterly Buttondown.. now you can match your baby. This “trend” needs to go away.. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1031288&…

hahahha. I can imagine seeing matching parent children all over the place. At a children's museum craft event.

Zara has a version of the painterly shirt for boys in their latest kid's campaign. Can't leave out the boys in this trend.

I was admiring the Altimira Top..is it something a person could size down in to make the chest area a bit more fitted?(not billowy)
The Bougainvillea Bloom Cardi is so pretty!
    (Thanks for the post, Roxy!)
I haven't shopped with Sundance much because I thought their shipping fees were crazy high..and the last time I bought something it took them forever to credit my return for some odd reason…however, I would give them a try again.

I think it's kind of like Boden where the return center is very far away and there's only one, so it takes them awhile. I agree it is a downside but when the stuff is this pretty I can't be that upset. 😉

Omg!!! Roxy I'm in love with Sundance. I have bought 2 tops recently and love them. The Embroidered details and delicate feminine style are very cute

Sundance have things that Anthro is missing lately. ??

The Chelsea Morning dress is beautiful and I'm very tempted by it but it looks so similar to an Anthro dress I bought a year or two ago. I think it's Floreat…anyone know which one I'm talking about? I'll have to compare them when I get home to decide if I can justify the Sundance version…

    • February 7, 2017 / 2:05 am

      Hmm, this dress maybe?

It's the Ottava Peasant Dress from last year. I can see how they are quite similar. Perhaps you can buy and try the Chelsea Morning Dress and if you find you like it better sell the Ottava?

(Spoken by a lover of all things new.)

Yup that's the one 🙂 I was thinking of doing just that. I'm kind of hoping they look different enough in person to justify both because I love that style of dress!

I'm totally new to Sundance, as in have never ordered anything nor stepped foot in a store. Anthro's latests have been so bland I need to branch out! When items are marked down, are they moved to the “outlet” section online? Are markdowns fairly regular and do they do % off sales like Anthro does? TIA!

I absolutely love Johnny Was but they can be a bit on the pricy side. They do have some good sales though so I've been having some fun there:) I recently found the most gorgeous mauve silk velvet embroidered dress from eBay, brand new and perfect and I can't wait to wear it!

That bougainvillea cardigan and the pants worn with them in the picture are classic Anthropologie. Why the hell can't they make stuff like that anymore?

    • February 7, 2017 / 2:08 am

I would love to ask the powers that be at Anthro the exact same thing!!

  8. February 6, 2017 / 10:01 pm

    Yep. Exactly.

This has been said before too I think but while we're wishing for Anthro of old, take a look at their aprons https://www.anthropologie.com/search?q=apron
and wonder why the apron designers don't get assigned dresses too…

    • February 7, 2017 / 12:03 pm

YES. I did a post about this a couple of years ago http://effortlesslywithroxy.com/2014/

And I completely agree with you. The aprons have the whimsy that the dresses are missing right now. Many of the aprons are certainly too frilly, but if you compare where they are to where the dress selection currently is aprons are much closer to target.

I believe someone from this community mentioned as much in an Anthro survey but it seems to have gone in one ear and out the other.

Oh, I must have missed that post. So many of us agree with you two.

I bought the colorblocked apron from Anthro at full-price when it first came out and emailed Anthro asking if they could turn it into a dress. I got a form response. Combining two aprons doesn't work either.

Thank you, Roxy, for all the great posts on Anthro-like alternatives out there. Since the last Anthro order for my sis was cancelled yesterday, I'll be looking at those sites.

I just ordered Hutton Leather jacket and got free shipping without a code. It seems to have free shipping for full priced item purchase over $100.

Oh both of those dresses are sooo pretty! The Larkspur Midi Dress print in particular is a real stand out. I only saw it once in the store and never got the chance to try it on but I could definitely tell it was a good one!.

Ooooh, amazing and good to know!! Thank you for telling us Guest. =)

Yeah, I hate that about Sundance too. Sometimes there's no picture of the back at all.

Hi! Sundance clothing is so lovely! Can anyone comment on sizing? I am petite and normally wear 00P or XXSP in Anthro and I see that they have a limited petites collection in Sundance and their sizing chart seems slightly larger than Anthro…. Any insight would be much appreciated!!!
