Afternoon delights…

The pretty Embroidered Field Jacket ($168) is tops on my birthday wishlist.

This afternoon I’m working on my birthday wish list, looking around for subtle texture, pattern and embellishments. Anthropologie is leading the charge with items like the pretty pretty Embroidered Field Jacket ($168), above.

Other delights from Anthro on the wishlist include:
1 | The dots in squares pattern perfection of the Gridway Crepe Shirtdress ($138).
2 | The mix of stripes, texture and of course a bow on the Clare V. Twill Foldover Clutch ($209).
3 | Great length and subtle ribbed fabric make me excited for spring and the possibilities for the Ribbed Mockneck Tunic ($68).
4 | Evening chills need never affect you in the long, lavish Rugby Stripe Duster ($148).
5 | There is room for one more off-shoulder top in my closet, especially if it’s the Pinstripe Off-The-Shoulder Blouse ($88).

What’s your afternoon delight today?

I ordered the Embroidered Field Jacket and received it yesterday! It is unlined, which I was a little disappointed with considering the price, but I'm going to keep it. The embroidery is just lovely, and in a sea of ugly, unflattering rayon potato sacks, this jacket really stood out to me, for having some of that old school Anthro appeal that has been so lacking.

I find Hei Hei to run a little big, and this is no exception. I'm a 6/8 and took a S.

I love Embroidered field jacket ????

it's one of the lovelies Anthro is carrying right now. There only few items I can count on my fingers that I will buy. And this jacket is one amongst them.

Me three! If I didn't already have two olive colored jackets I would have bought it already. Not sure I can justify a third at full price.

Same here as well! As much as it pains me, I cannot add another army surplus-style jacket to my closet.

I'm so disappointed about the new so-called catalog Nam…if Free People can afford to get one out I wonder why Anthro can't? I agree from the previous thread that I'd rather see better designs and prints being released but I don't see why they can't do it all like they always used to. We were so spoiled in the “old days” lol. It's almost like Anthro is doing the exact opposite of what its customers to spite them.

Thank goodness I can still find a good piece here and there but wow is it ever rare!

Yeah I'm so tired of expecting Anthro is gonna go back to its old style:( The reason is those clothes used to be unique well made and head turner.

Now they are trying to be more like modern Main stream clothing brands. But it doesn't mean making TENTS gonna help or something horrendous like painterly Buttondown ??Can make them super stylish brand lol. If they are looking for modern style they should do something like jcrew or club Monaco

May be they will learn it after company will be in loss forever :(:(:(

Agreed, they went a little too far mainstream but that's what happens when a company over extends itself. They start to lose quality for quantity to try to get things to sell but what happens is they end up losing their loyal customer base or even would be customers due to people in general just not liking cheap looking garments.

I'm seeing quite a few new things in new arrivals that are cotton, but I'm not seeing much to like (and nothing that can't wait for sale). Maybe they are trying? But – So many of the tops and dresses have shapes and patterns that remind me of the Gymboree I used to buy for my daughter when she was little. I'm nearly 50. I don't want to look like I got my clothes at a kids store. I have 2 tops (both light colored lace) and a few pairs of jeans on my wishlist, and that's pretty much it.

I'm also not at all ready to think about spring. I love my fall and winter clothes, and I like to have time to enjoy them. I'm totally willing to think about boots and sweaters in July, but I don't want to think about spring clothes until spring.

Cotton is good! Silk would be nice too, and then related materials like crepe or cotton jersey maybe? Come on, Anthro!

Some poly is also fine. Just get rid of the crappy viscose and the gross nylon (except in athletic wear, where it makes sense.)

Cotton *is* good. I just want to see it in designs that I want to buy. It seems like for every concession they make, they do one thing we've expressly stated we don't want. I don't get it.

The woman who posted bought it for her 13 year old daughter. I guess I don't understand why she just didn't make her own?

I'm sure the 13 year old looks adorable in the painterly with her leggings and converse… But that is hardly the demographic anthro needs to be marketing to!

An aside… I wish December birthdays had the option of using their birthday discount in January. December promos always overshadow it.

I haven't been using my September discount either. The past few years there has been an Anthro Day in September, so I just wait for that.

    • January 19, 2017 / 12:06 pm

Here's a secret for you: you can almost always use the Birthday Discount the month after your birthday if you ask nicely. 🙂

I was able to score a few things last night but I just attempted to use TAGTIME as a promo code and now it doesn't work. Weird because usually they give notice if it's ending…
