What will you do if these aren’t waiting under your tree or menorah???

These people look so happy! Probably because they are wearing comfy moccasin slippers.

As I sink into the delightful mad frenzy of my holiday shopping halfway point, I’m still looking to come up with as many creative ideas as possible for gifts.

Last week inspiration struck me in the form of cold feet. Literally. Our new apartment is wonderful and has beautiful light-colored wide-plank hardwood floors that are cold as all heck each night! I found myself wishing for new slippers and when I started looking at the design options I noticed I kept getting drawn to the moccasin slippers. They look so soft and fuzzy and comfy, all necessities for cold winters!

I ended up purchasing these LL Bean beauties for myself before looking around to see what other options are out there for gifting purposes. From my Mom to my boyfriend’s parents to friends and extended family, moccasins are totally on the buying list this year. I can only wonder what people who don’t get them will be thinking come December 25th. Shudder.

Inside, some of my favorites. Think all moccasin slippers look the same? Oh my dear, how wrong you are…

J.Crew has plenty of moccasin slipper options, though sadly the leopard ones are currently sold out.
(They very likely will pop back though!)

Let’s start with the classics though because that’s where our minds immediately go. J.Crew is on the same wavelength as me and offering lots of moccasins this winter! The classic suede in traditional colors and a rosy pink, a plaid version that needs no description, a crackled metallic version, or a leopard version that’s temporarily sold out. There’s even a few Factory versions that comes highly rated via a coworker, also in traditional, plaid or metallic.

Looking for pairs that will last and last? Look no further than LL Bean, which has the pair that I ordered, the Wicked Good Moccasins ($69, also in printed for $10 more) as well as the slightly less furry Mountain Slippers, Moccasin ($59). If you think moccasins can’t have enough fur, then I suggest the Shearling Moc Slippers ($89) which are slightly pricier, probably due to all that faux fur! Then again, you can get that last pair for 40% off today only using the code SNOWFALL and pin 9327. These TempurPedic moccasins look comfy and well-made.

On the budget-friendly side, these moccasins come in the traditional dark chestnut color or a beautiful light grey for under $23. These Minnetonkas ring in at under $60 which is a great price for the brand (the brand appears later in this post again at an even more amazing price.)

Sorel is killing it in their footwear lately. How pretty are these around town mocs?

But then while hunting down ever more moccasin slippers, I realized perhaps I was limiting myself far too much in only searching for moc slippers. Perhaps, I thought, there is a wider array of choices! And yes it turns out I was right because I fell upon these Sorel Out N About Moccasins ($95, above) and discovered that there’s a whole world of moccasins out there and I’d only scratched the surface.

Armed with a new mission, I kept looking for cute modern mocs. Besides the pair above I also found this very cute, highly rated printed pair for under $20, these colorful moccasin boots and these Minnetonka Moccasin Booties, that are a jaw-dropping steal at under $50.

Moccasin mission: completed. Have you embarked on yours yet?
