Some last-minute gift ideas…

Get those last-minute gifts, and perhaps a New Year’s Eve outfit too!

There’s just a few days til Hanukkah and Christmas, and my last-minute shopping has been honed to a fine point! At this point most online retailers are no longer promising Christmas delivery (though with overnight shipping it’s a possibility!)…but if you have family members or friends who can wait a few extra days to receive their packages or are now on to looking for stuff for yourself or for New Year’s Eve, there are such fabulous deals to be had.

Take the J.Crew family of stores. Right now J.Crew Factory is offering 40% off new arrivals and 50% off everything else — no code required. Their fabulous gift guide is highly inspirational too! Whether it’s inspiration for a trip to the store you seek, a little push into a last-minute order or just a gentle take on some wishlist fodder, inside great picks from Factory, J.Crew and Madewell too.

The gorgeous Uptown City Coat (now $140) will keep you warm and cute all winter long.

Let’s begin with some pretty outerwear, which makes a great gift or addition to your closet. I am head over heels for the Uptown City Coat (now $140, above in pink) with its subtly ruffled collar and watermelon happy hue! I envision wearing it with the Marled Pom Pom Hat (now $25). You’ll also stay warm in the Faux Fur Pom Pom Hat (now $15) and the wonderfully practical Chunky Knit Infinity Scarf (now $20), which also comes in a marled version.

Under your coat more layers may be called for, or on warm enough days the Quilted Puffer Vest (now $40) makes a great topper or extra warmth layer. I’m also a big fan of the Quilted Puffer Vest (now $43) which was a great piece to wear on days out in the woods when we kept going back and forth between the indoors and out.

Other great warmth layers include the Cotton Caryn Cardigan Sweater (now $25) and the Marnie Sweater ($35), the latter of which does pill the first time you wear it but since a quick runover with the sweater shaves it’s been all good. For indoor warmth at night I have been wearing the Striped Terry Funnelneck Sweatshirt with Pockets (now $40) — it’s so very comfortable!

Perhaps it’s accents that you desire. In that case I have some ideas! If it’s a bit of sparkle you desire the Mirrored Birds Collector T-shirt (now $23) is sure to be a hit; I also love the Cluster Parade Necklace (now $20) and the Brass-Plated Crystal Necklace (now $25). A couple of really great accessory steals include the Calf Hair D’Orsay Kitten Heels (now $55) and the Ryann Crossbody Bag (now $47) which just popped back into stock!

The Textured Sweater with Anchor Buttons ($80) looks and feels amazing!

J.Crew is running a 40% off last-minute gifts promo and extra 40% off sale too (code: GIFTNOW). I’m loathe to recommend too much because so much is sold out on the website, but at the very least this may give you help to take into a store (or to add to your wishlist because this stuff always pops back).

The Medium Pouch in Italian Leather ($40) went to several friends for the holidays in its various bright and festive colors; there is also a small version for $23. The Medium Pouch in Metallic Italian Leather ($40) is currently in-stock if you like the pouch idea; it also comes in a larger version for $60. The Magnolia Crystal Necklace ($88) adds the right amount of sparkle to any outfit and it looks particularly cute over the Lace Peplum Top (now $60).

I’m stalking the Silver Sequin Skirt ($148) in popbacks for two friends — it keeps coming and going! But to tide them over, the Suede Lace-Up Flats (now $130) are a fantastic gift, especially with an extra 40% off.

Gift the great Playlist Sunglasses ($55) for 25% off.

And finally over at Madewell, the code LATEBIRD gets you 25% off nearly everything. They have a great gift guide, and here are some of my favorite ideas.

You can never go wrong gifting someone the beautiful and classic Transport Tote ($168). The Southfield Mockneck Sweater ($98) is soft, comfortable and really pretty on — I’ve gifted it to myself. Twice. (Forest and mauve for me!) The Sherpa Cocoon Coat ($258) is ideal for chilly days, and the Julie Flat in Velvet ($138) goes with everything. As does the Fleet Jacket ($118), actually. (I adore mine so much!)

How is your gifting going?
