Everything is better in velvet, including shoes…

Natalie Off-Duty agrees that velvet shoes are a most wonderful thing.
Especially these pink ones.

Ahhhh velvet, one material I’m happy to see is back on-trend. As a kid nothing made me happier than winter’s chill and getting to unpack my special holiday velvet dresses, one of which I apparently insisted to wearing to two weddings and seven holiday parties as a child, if my Mom’s stories are to be believed.

These days I still love velvet though I find that rather than velvet dresses, it’s velvet shoes that I adore! Wear them with jeans, or midi skirts, or dresses that hit just below the knee. And there are oh so many beautiful options. Inside, I’ve gathered up a bunch of my favorites.

Ignore the lone review — if you have narrow feet, the Saachi Govinda Applique Slides ($128) are perfection!

Don’t believe me that velvet shoes are amazing? Here are 25 options to prove they are:
1 | Yes, I adore velvet lace-up flats! Especially with midi skirts.
2 | For a simpler look, these velvet flats are pretty much ideal. Also, up to 30% off today (more here).
3 | These velvet heeled sandals are on sale and perfect for holiday parties, or any winter event.
4 | A more subtle blue color of these velvet heeled sandals makes them another great option. Up to 30% off today.
5 | That same medium blue also comes in a velvet closed-toe heel, up to 30% off today.
6 | Velvet heels in black or pink with a killer heel? Yes please, this city girl says! (They’re by SJP, no surprise.) Plus, they’re 25% off!
7 | Have narrow feet? In purple (shown above), taupe or black embellished, these velvet slides are elegant and easy to wear.
8 | These velvet slip-ons have a stark white heel with a beautifully saturated velvet upper. In three colors.
9 | These velvet ballet flats are versatile shoes I’d love all winter long. And they are 25% off.
10 | Kate Spade also has very cute ballet flats in velvet, also 25% off.
11 | Heels any lady would be delighted to wear, in a beautiful navy blue. Also in red.
12 | These velvet heels are quite simply a killer color. Drool…
13 | A black velvet block heel is just what the workday ordered.
14 | These embellished loafers have a subtle floral pattern that would look great under wool slacks with a crisp white blouse.
15 | Velvet sneakers sound like weekend perfection to me.
16 | Then again, velvet flatform sneakers sound even better. Especially in pink!
17 | Here’s another nice-looking velvet sneaker.
18 | Feeling brave? How about over-the-knee velvet boots?? (If my legs were thin enough I’d be all over this.)
19 | This slick velvet boot can be subtle during the day or the star of a night out outfit. Up to 30% off today.
20 | You had me at blush pink velvet bootie!
21 | A wedge bootie in velvet sounds divine with a bodycon dress and a big, faux-furry jacket. (I guess I kinda dig glam for a night out on the town!)
22| Short booties with a hip attitude and a comfort factor that’s off the charts — oh, and they’re 30% off.
23 | Urban ankle boots that come in either a holly green velvet or a gunmetal silver…not quite my thing, but very cool.
24 | There is the designer version of the velvet bootie which is pretty nice, but I think I like the knockoff even better!
25 | Combine black velvet and a low sparkly heel for one last beautiful shoe to close out this list. Also in pink (seen in top post photo), of course.

Do you enjoy velvet shoes as much as I do? What pairs are your favorite?
