Time to wrap up

Scarf weather, never better. (photo source via Pinterest)

Yesterday, in the lovely chill of fall, I was walking around midtown Manhattan in my leather jacket with a huge scarf wrapped around me when I passed my nearly outfit twin — the only difference being her look was in tones of black while mine was in tones of brown.

Yes, it’s that time again! The time when wrapping ourselves up becomes extra fun, especially with a blanket scarf. Inside, some quick outfit ideas and some of my favorite blanket scarves currently out there…

This scarf is from Zara in 2012, but you can get the exact same scarf here or a sim here.

1. The outfit: destructed denim, oversized sweater, tartan or plaid blanket scarf.

Plaid & blanket scarfs: Closest to the image above // Same idea in black & cream // A white-based option // Black & white, perfect for the city //  Green tartan // Cream tartan 1 // Cream tartan 2 // Cream tartan 3 // Black & camel tartan // Red tartan // Green & Blue tartan

V-Neck sweaters: A creamy delight from Splendid // Cream with a stripe for visual interest // Textured and dropped shoulders // Textured in front and back // Warm boucle

Crewneck: Honeycomb // Texture on texture in a beautiful teal blue // Creamy crewneck in front, v-neck in the back // Cashmere boatneck

Destructed denim: My current AG favorites // skinny style, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // boyfriend style, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // medium wash lightly destructed // black wash lightly destructed // light wash lightly destructed

2. The outfit: blazer and a scarf.

OK, clearly we bloggers are all about tartan scarves lately but there are lots of other options here. A blazer also looks fantastic with a lightweight silk scarf or a knit scarf in either one solid color, a pattern or colorblock.

Solid scarves: Wrap or blanket scarf in beautiful burgundy // The basic yummy soft scarf // Fringed cashmere // Soft, classic cashmere //

Colorblock scarves: Tassel colorblock in grey + white // Oversized stripes in wool + mohair // Jacquard square

Pattern scarves: Grey/white/black herringbone for the win // This block stripe scarf has a fun double-side to it // Creamy herringbone // I’m kinda gaga over this fuzzy chevron // Multiscale houndstooth, yum // Yes to reversible stripes // A silk scarf in blue — check out that print! // A lightweight feather scarf // A tree print that has ethereal beauty when wrapped // Diamond Mosaic (love the milk/cigar combo!) // Beautiful multicolored blanket scarf // A gorgeous tile pattern // This blue & black combo would look great over any black or navy blazer

A few of my favorite blazers: A green military blazer, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // A classic navy two-button, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // A long burgundy option, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // A lightweight navy wool blazer, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // A tuxedo blazer with faux-leather trim, 40% off today with code BRSAVE // Love the contrast collar on this one // Cropped leather trim option // Pricey but I love it // Simple, classic double-pocket // Longer cord option // Roll up the sleeves of this one just like the product shot

3. The outfit: leather jacket and a blanket scarf.

I think we have scarf options covered pretty well at this point. So let’s break down options for the other part.

Camel leather & faux: Yummy vegan details // The leather on this one also looks delicious // A great faux option in camel or black // It’s the sleeve details that make this faux jacket a winner //

Black leather & faux: The collar on this one would pair well with a blanket scarf // A great faux option in camel or black // A drape collar makes wearing a scarf all the easier // The oversized collar is so fun! // Love the sleeves and quilting // A handy buckle on this faux moto //

Cream leather & faux: Kinda cropped, very pretty // The Vince scuba…drool // Free People delivers a solid jacket // Quilted sleeves, yes please (also in plus) // Creamy cropped goodness with a faux shearling collar (in black too) // Quilted cream, OMG yes! //

Other color leather & faux: Grey drape-front stunner // Yes to burgundy quilted leather // This jacket is totally 80s and I love it // For those looking for a moto jacket that’s not black, check this grey option out

Non-leather/faux options: Cream or black boucle moto // Soft, pleasant sweatshirt material

Don’t know how to tie a blanket scarf? Me neither, but this tutorial was super helpful for me! What do you think of blanket scarves? What’s your favorite fall accessory?
