The EA review wishlist

I’m kind of obsessed with this dress.
My workwear today, the Petaluma Peep Hem Dress ($78, reviewed).

Work has kept me underwater for the last few weeks and I haven’t been to an Anthropologie store in what seems like ages! My first in-depth sweep of the website in awhile has yielded a ton of wishlist additions and a long list of items to look for and review.

I’ll start by sharing the items I’m most intrigued by. Then won’t you let me know what you’d like to see reviewed in the comments?

Let’s start with dresses since it is the season for them! So far in 2013 Anthropologie has done an excellent job of reintroducing some of the old Anthro flair I love while also attempting some forward-thinking silhouettes.

On the classic Anthro front we’ve got the Shade Garden Dress ($198) by Meadow Rue, the Forget-Me-Not Dress ($198) by Moulinette Soeurs and Deletta’s Janie Jersey Dress ($118). Although I am doing my best to avoid succumbing to the siren song of yet another strapless dress I have to admit that the Forget-Me-Not is my favorite of these three — sight unseen anyway.

The Minerve Swing Dress ($138) by Bordeaux has a classic look and feel to it that’s oh-so-tempting in website form. I have to laugh at the look on the model’s face though. Did she space out during the shoot? She looks quite cute; the Denimbloom Wedges ($168) pair well with the dress. The bolder Sequined Kaleidoscope Dress ($188) by Floreat has summer BBQs written all over it to me (bonus: the pattern will hide inconvenient ketchup, mustard and gelato stains).

Thinking a little more fashion-forward in our silhouettes, the Woodprint Swing Dress ($258) by Plenty by Tracy Reese is so, so alluring to me. As a lady with large hips and a small waist this will likely be a tent on me but I’m hoping that somehow the shape works magic. I’m alarmed by the reviews that note this dress is sheer despite being double-layered! Hopefully that’s not the case when I try it on.

The skirt selection is pretty underwhelming to me right now but I will grab several to try on for their own reviews set. If there’s one particular you’d like me to try just let me know in the comments.

What dresses would you like to see reviewed? Have you bought a dress recently? If so, which one and how did you like it?

I don’t like how the price point on Anthropologie’s tops keep shooting up. While the so-called basics run in the $50-$75 range blouses are getting tougher to find for under $100. And of course I’m that person who’s able to randomly pick out the most expensive piece as my favorite. (I’m not so much a taste-maker as a debt-incurrer, har.) Still, even if I can’t afford to plop down the cash or the card to invest all these tops at once I can certainly try them on in one fell swoop!

Admission: I cheated. When the Eyelet Peplum Blouse ($148) by Dolce Vita first appeared on Anthro’s website it wasn’t available in any local stores so I went to Dolce Vita’s Nolita retail store and tried it on there instead. I love it! But it deserves a proper Anthropologie review — you never know if the item will be exactly the same. As I’ve discovered with some other brand collaborations the fabric contents can vary. It usually works out in the Anthro fan’s favor but not always. We shall see!

Lots of community members have been asking me about the Itea Blouse ($98) by Lil, which looks cute. The tulip back concerns me somewhat so it needs a proper try-on. Also pending a try-on is Saturday/Sunday’s Tail-Lace Crew ($68) which I’m guessing will either be boxy-adorable or boxy-oh-no. Everytime I wear my In Parallel Pullover (now $40, review) my office share coworkers accuse me of having a butt cape. As it is a superhero of sorts I can’t argue with this. I don’t need a lacy ass mask to complete the set.

When Anthropologie skips the model shot to do the floating shot, a la the Collared Brixham Top ($118) by Liv, I get concerned. Will it be long and cute? Or a disaster? Only the fitting room knows. Along those same lines the Striped Devon Halter Top ($78) by Edme & Esyllte is likely going to be a failure on me, but I’ll try it on anyway so I can either be breathlessly surprised or so I can whine about how it’s a failure on me. Blogger prerogative!

The last top on my review wishlist is the Terra Ikat Blouse ($128) by Laurel. Love the waist sash, love the colors, love the print. Will it fit? We shall see.

Have you tried any of these tops on? How’d they work for you? What other tops should I grab and review?

Who else remembers the Nickelodeon show Pinwheel’s Playhouse? Ever since I was a wee tot I’ve had a love of pinwheels. The chance to cover my iPhone in the Summer Pinwheel iPhone 4 Case ($28) has me clapping already! It would look perfectly delightful when pulled out of the coordinating Pomflora Pouch ($58), don’t you think?

Also on my accessories grab list is the adorable Carbonated Strand ($38), which has little sparkly gems tucked inside the largest circular shapes. There’s also the endless collection of Bijouterie Layering Necklace, Mediums ($28). I think this particular one pictured is my favorite. Of course if you like your collections to be more of a menagerie, there’s always the Stacked Pachyderm Necklace ($38).

What accessories do you have your eyes on? Should I try to snap some photos of what I see in-store? Let me know what else I should review, and feel free to share links to your recently wishlisted Anthropologie items!
