These are a few of my favorite charms!

As a kid I used to love charm anything. Charm bracelets. Charm necklaces. Lucky Charms. Even now as an adult I love the idea of connecting seemingly unrelated items in a way that may make sense only to me. It’s why I’ve been so delighted by the Charm items Anthropologie is carrying! And for today only they’re all 30% off on Anthropologie’s website.

Charms have experienced a major resurgence over the last couple of years and it’s true that you can pick them up in varying styles, shapes and sizes at plenty of stores besides Anthropologie. But there’s something about Anthro’s collection that really captures me. I suppose it’s that I’m already inclined towards the store. And I so love the design of Maximal Art’s charms! I wish the styles Anthropologie used to carry (especially the initials) were still around…in their absence though I like the present assortment quite a bit.

The Serif Number Charms (now $10.60), Twig Monogram Collector’s Charm (now $12.60) and Golden Envelope Collector’s Charm (now $12.60) are my three favorite styles Anthro currently carries. But there’s more 20 charms to choose from in all. In stores I’ve noticed a bunch more that are likely left over from the spring collection.

Not only can it be fun to spell out words, or dates, or initials on a chain but it’s also great to pick them out with someone. I babysit for a friend’s daughter sometimes. The girl is about 8 and (with mom’s permission) for her birthday earlier this year my little galpal and I went to Anthropologie, both picked out a chain, four charms and now we both have a necklace we wear whenever I’m babysitting her. She delights in the fact that her cool babysitter has the same necklace, and I love that she gets such a kick out of it!

Beyond the charms a few other collectible delights would make great stocking stuffers. The Monogram Keychain ($18), Letter Jumble Keychain ($18) and Traveler Keychain ($18) by Lenora Dame are all on my holiday wishlist. I suppose that a single letter could cause confusion in a household where people have names that start with the same letter. But I’m sure something like the Monogram Keychain ($18) would make me less of a constant key forgetter. I love the look of the Letter Jumble Keychain ($18) — I only wish you could make custom letter scrambles! How fun would it be to get one that spells out milk, wine or some other beverage you’d like to remind your significant other to pick up on the way home? And the Traveler Keychain ($18) tempts me for no other reason than that it is a cool gathering of little trinkets. I love trinkets!!

Sadly these are not included in the charms sale. Aren’t they charms of sorts?

One last charm of sorts that I’m really loving are the Wee Initial Rings ($56/ea) by Catbird NYC. I’m a little confused why Anthropologie chose not to stock so many letters…no love for nearly a third of the alphabet, Anthro??! I suppose the Wee Heart Ring ($78) makes a fine “o” but that still leaves a lot of letters out.

I think it would be adorable to spell out your partner’s name in stackable rings. (Yes I’m like a 13-year-old. What of it?) Or a pet’s name? Or maybe some other cool word? What do you think?
