I scrolled through the sections early this morning and got a couple of things I've been stalking: the Gayle Skirt and the Sun-Studded belt. Yay! And now I vow to buy no more presents for myself until after the holidays! LOLAre you going to get your Plaid Petals skirt?

    December 2, 2009 / 1:36 pm

Waited for the Carmen tieback to go on sale and snagged it earlier today along with another Sun-Studded belt that is supposedly as a holiday gift for a friend. I alreay own it in the brown and it's great. I wanted the Anna Sui dress, but didn't pull the trigger. Did you ever try on the Fosteriana cardi? Reviewers have said it runs small. Your thougts? I'm usually a s/m depending on fit. Thanks!

  4. December 2, 2009 / 1:40 pm

Good morning Autumn! I have several items in my cart, but I'm debating pulling the trigger. I'm mostly in gift mode so I'm looking for things my friends/family want.Bronzi, I have not but one of my friends has it. She's 5'3" or so and maybe 100 lbs and she had to size up to a medium in the cardi. So I'd say it runs small.

  5. December 2, 2009 / 1:57 pm

I seriously need clothes, but since the small amount of maternity stuff I bought now doesn't cover my protrusion, there is no way I will fit into anything cute that I actually want to buy! Maybe a long cardigan sweater. But I appreciate the post. I can look longingly and hope I deliver soon. I have to go over to the store anyway, I need some ornaments! And maybe a purse. A purse would fit!BTW, I love the flower necklace!!!!! That would fit too.

  6. December 2, 2009 / 2:02 pm

thanks for letting us know about the update! i'm so bummed though, i had the belle of the ball dress in my cart and while i was checking out it went out of stock in my size 🙁 will customer service be able to track it down or would i have to call stores individually? thanks so much, roxy!

  7. December 2, 2009 / 2:05 pm

You crack me up Georgine. A purse would totally fit!Tippy, call CS now before stores open on the East Coast. What size do you need? I'll check Soho during lunch.

  8. December 2, 2009 / 2:13 pm

hi roxy! i just called CS and only 1 store in the midwest has it. If you happen to go to the store in Soho though (you're so lucky to be so close to that store!), I'm a size 0 but please don't go out of your way to check 🙂 thanks again!

  9. December 2, 2009 / 2:16 pm

So many great items went on sale today but unfortunately Anthropologie is making me choose only a few and I have to wish like crazy my other likes won't sell out uber quick.

  10. December 2, 2009 / 2:26 pm

Sigh. I want the elodie lily cardigan but $70 still seems a bit much for a cardigan. If anyone goes to a store, can they check to see if the Tracy Reese elimovna coat is on sale? It's sold out on the website but if it goes on sale before next Tuesday then I can get a price adjustment!

  11. December 2, 2009 / 2:40 pm

Not sure if you can help but I have my cart loaded but on the total it has PROMO: 13.95. I don't know what this promo means and it doesn't make since in my final total. Do you know what this means?

    December 2, 2009 / 2:47 pm

JenLynn, that's the amount that you'd have had to pay for shipping if you didn't go over the $150 mark.

  13. December 2, 2009 / 2:55 pm

Elodie cardigan is sold out! 🙁 If anyone is able to track down a Small, I would be in your debt!!

I got all excited to see the Chroma Cardigan pictured on the "Sale" front page" but when I cliked it, the price was still 128. 🙁 🙁 What's going on?

  15. December 2, 2009 / 3:01 pm

    Thanks anonymous

  16. December 2, 2009 / 3:02 pm

    HALLELUJAH!!!!!that is all… =)

  17. December 2, 2009 / 3:08 pm

Anon @ 9:56 AM, kind of lame but it's probably because the item the model has on under the cardi — the Golden Light Dress — is on sale. I'm sorry the cardi you want is not though.

    December 2, 2009 / 3:12 pm

Thanks Roxy — they should have made clicking the picture take you to the dress then. Or just put the cardi on sale already because it's cold outside. The only thing on sale now that I really lust is Windswept Stems Chemise, but that has gotten so many bad reviews.

  19. December 2, 2009 / 3:23 pm

Just got off the phone with customer service, and they do have stores with small Elodie Lily Cardigans! CS took care of my order directly, too. I didn't have to call the store!

  20. December 2, 2009 / 3:35 pm

Jordan that's great news! Rock on CS.

  21. December 2, 2009 / 3:59 pm

I was B A D and ordered the Horizon Line skirt. I never would have given this a second look but after seeing Roxy's review and the price point I decided to try. If I don't like back it goes! I also ordered the Laced Roses cardigan and the Snakebite Belt in both grey and black, both of which are backordered until March. So not having to pay for the belts for a few motnhs takes some of the edge off, right, and makes me less B A D?!?I also almost ordered the Carraoe heels but was on the fence about the leather wrapped heel and about it being colored leather. I tend to knick my heels a lot and try to avoid those that are leather-wrapped. So, maybe if they make it to sale I will pick them up then; if not, I'll live!Anyway, now I want the Wrapped in Ruffles sweater coat to go on sale, along with the Gumshoe. Both will probably be marked down right after the holiday. Hopefully I can stay strong until then!

  22. December 2, 2009 / 4:00 pm

woohoo!!! thanks so much for this post roxy! I ordered the ruffian on monday because it popped up again in my size and I couldn't resist it. and it went on sale!!!! I am so excited, and am calling CS right now for a price adjustment.I do have one complaint – I hate UPS mail innovations! I know Antrho is doing us all a favor by offering free ship but holy cow that cheapy service takes forever – like twice as long as my anthro orders used to take to get here. Is anyone else having this problem with this service?

  23. December 2, 2009 / 4:06 pm

kater, I second that emotion. Last Tuesday I placed two orders — one at 8:30 AM and one closer to 1 PM. The 8:30 AM order was shipped via Priority Mail. Despite being the week of Thanksgiving I got that package on Friday and was happy as a clam. My other order, however, shipped via UPS Mail Innovations. It didn't arrive until YESTERDAY and the box was crushed. I'm lucky the item wasn't damaged. Even my doorman said the package looked like it had been through the ringer. I'll grant them an extra day to process the order since I placed it later in the day…but still. Anthropologie needs to get rid of Innovations ASAP. It sucks holy hell.

  24. December 2, 2009 / 4:17 pm

roxy – the package was damaged? yikes! I'm so glad the item wasn't!you are making me quake with fear though because my coveted ruffian top is in a mail innovations package! Ha ha ha ha (I am only laughing because it will dispel the very real anxiety…:) I have two packages coming from them and they better get here before Friday even though the tracking info isn't even showing up yet or I'm going to be full o' rage. please anthro get rid of ups mail innovations for the sake of our sanity!oh and to add insult to injury I even PAID for the shipping on one of the packages that is coming UPS M I. I mean seriously, for $11 they couldn't just use ups standard????

  25. December 2, 2009 / 4:19 pm

I am NOT a fan of UPS Mail Innovations! I ordered a dress for an event, and it took two weeks to arrive versus the usual three days with Priority Mail. The event had come and gone by the time I received the dress. Yes, I should have paid to rush ship the item, but I never dreamed it would take so long. 86 it!

  26. December 2, 2009 / 4:25 pm

hello! i recently discovered your blog, and i am in LOVE! thanks so much for the daily posts and the sale updates! you are certainly my new favorite!!!

  27. December 2, 2009 / 4:27 pm

I too loathe UPS MI. There is nothing innovative about it at all. It takes about two weeks for me to get anything via this service.I wrote about one experience here.

  28. December 2, 2009 / 4:31 pm

Katie, welcome to the community!kater, sending happy safe delivery thoughts to your Ruffian top.Lauren H – word from a friend/Anthro Employee is that the Eliminova Coat is not on sale. Yet.

Thanks for the scoop! I have been waiting for the Elodie Lily Cardi to go on sale for ever…it sold out on line but CS was able to direct me to some stores that still have it and they will ship it to me. Anthro CS rocks!Jen

  30. Val
    December 2, 2009 / 4:40 pm

I've had good and bad experiences with UPS Mail Innovations. Once, it took 1.5 weeks to get here, and the other time, 3 business days! I guess it just depends. I'm going to go check out the sale!

  31. December 2, 2009 / 4:40 pm

Ahhh thanks for the post! I am dying dying dying because now my choices are PAY MY RENT or Flight of Swans…. ok not really but we're almost to that. Ughhhhh…. I was so relieved yesterday, too. Bummer. Yet… not bummer. So many emotions.

  32. December 2, 2009 / 4:50 pm

My beloved Big Band Dress was marked down a full 50%, to only $99!! I had to get it even if it puts me over budget. So happy!

  33. December 2, 2009 / 5:06 pm

I ordered the Snow Queen dress this morning – I'm so excited! I'm hoping that it will be a good New Years Eve dress 🙂

Hi Roxy,Thanks for the update – I'm definitely eyeing the four-if-by-sea skirt. I had a quick question – I'm usually close to your size in dresses 6-8, but I'm not sure if the size 6 or the size 4 would suit me. My waist is 28" and I noticed you mentioned you sized down. Any recommendations? Thanks!

  35. December 2, 2009 / 5:43 pm

Jacquelyn I remember when you first posted that — I still can't get over it!Val, I am glad to hear that you have had better luck with UPS mail innovations. Maria LOL I am much the same. During the World Series my FB status was something like "can't pay rent but I went to a WS game!" or something like that. AL – Congrats on the score, but boo to being over budget.Anon – You'll be fine in the 6. The skirt sits on the smallest part of your waist, and I had some extra room.

  36. December 2, 2009 / 5:44 pm

Tippy no luck at Soho. The smallest they had was a 4. 🙁 However my friend in Flatiron says the 5th Ave Anthro has a 2. I know you are petite but would that work? If so give them a ring!

  37. December 2, 2009 / 5:44 pm

I ordered Leifsdottir Neves Cardigan. I checked this morning especially for it (Hell, I've been checking every morning for it) since I have the linked bookmarked into my browser.I love Leifsdottir and am super excited for this sweater. I hope it gets here soon.

  38. December 2, 2009 / 5:49 pm

Tien I am super excited to hear how the cardi works out for you! Or maybe see an IRL on your blog? I am thinking of ordering the Cosmos Constellation Skirt…I've been drooling over it forever.

  39. December 2, 2009 / 6:02 pm

Argh, what I meant to say is I ordered the Four-if-by-Sea skirt! Not sure why I got the name wrong. I'm going to chalk it up to Claritin-head syndrome.

    December 2, 2009 / 6:05 pm

Can I please get your help again with sizing? You recommended the Wirling Ruffles Sweater Dress in a small for me and the fit is perfect. I want to order the Elodie Lily Cardi and I'm torn between the small and medium. How is the fit? I don't want it to be a sausage casing! Thank you.Dana

  41. December 2, 2009 / 6:20 pm

Roxy–I know you have a weakness for Leifsdottir, too! My only problem with that skirt–I saw it in Bloomie's– is that it's short. I don't know how you feel about short skirts, but if you're fine with it, it's a very gorgeous print.

  42. December 2, 2009 / 6:35 pm

Dana – go for the medium if you are curvy. The cardi is pretty fitted (I bought the medium for mahself). If you're more rail-shaped you will be fine in the small.Tien – good to know. In the winter I don't mind short skirts because I can throw tights on under. I might swing by Bloomies to try on the skirt. Thanks for the tip. 🙂

  43. December 2, 2009 / 6:38 pm

Dana – I'm not Roxy, but I have the Elodie Lily Cardigan and suggest sizing up. I'm always an xs and needed a s in this one. It's pretty narrow. Hope that helps. So excited for this sale! I finally scored the Twilit Skirt and Drenched Helenium Tee.Roxy, what are you getting??

  44. December 2, 2009 / 6:49 pm

Kim, so ummm I actually think I'm getting the Deep Woods Toggle Coat. LOL. Totally not on sale but sold out online and running out of my size in-store. You win again Anthro! But I also found a Bengal Skirt in my size for $20, so probably that too.

  45. December 2, 2009 / 6:53 pm

aw thanks for checking, roxy! i think i'll need a 0 though but thank you so much for checking!! xo

  46. December 2, 2009 / 6:55 pm

Bah! I was hoping there would be no more good sales until after the holidays. So far I have the Four-If-By-Sea skirt and the Drenched Helenium Tee in my cart but my wallet is screaming, "Hold your horses! You still have gifts to buy."

  47. December 2, 2009 / 6:56 pm

Roxy – LOL. You and and I must be sisters from another mister, because I thought I was the only person on earth who buys full price when there's a sale happening! Haha. Get the coat – it's adorable in person! Did you try it on?Oh and score on the Striped Bengal Skirt…ever since I styled that for a reader this weekend, I want it too!Tres Trippy – Did they tell you what midwest store has your dress? I'm in Chicago and can check tonight?

  48. December 2, 2009 / 7:39 pm

I just came back from my Anthro and they had lots of markdowns in the store plus several of the new items. They had several Belle of the Ball dresses, a single Flight of Swan dress, and a couple of Twilit skirts. Lots of sweaters too. A couple of the items on the website didn't seem to be marked down yet on the floor though. Had many Horizontal Line Dresses in both colors(I brought one home with me), In a Moment Dresses, and Windowpane Dresses. I also returned a Size 4 Emerald Cut Dress so call the Towson, MD Anthro if you are looking for that.

  49. Anonymous
    December 2, 2009 / 7:54 pm

Were the prices in the store cheaper than online?

  50. December 2, 2009 / 7:59 pm

Anon, I didn't notice any 2nd markdowns but the Soho store is on a different sale schedule. The only additional cuts I saw were for items that they had one left of — the Party Petal Skirt was down to $19.95, a few Ric Rac shirts from the summer down to $9.99, that kind of thing. Did anyone else see 2nd cuts at their Anthro?

  51. December 2, 2009 / 8:00 pm

The new stuff seemed to be the same from what I could tell. They also had some older merchandise which might have been marked down a little more to move it. There was also a single Corey Lynn Calter Bengal Skirt but I didn't see the size.

question about shipping for backordered items. just wondering if anyone can shed some light on back ordered products. if i order two items and one is backordered for several weeks, will the entire order wait to be shipped until that item is available? or if the order will come in two shipments…will i be charged for shipping if my total order is over $150? hope that makes sense. i want to get the laced roses sweater & the dwarf quince cardigan (which is backordered til february!)thanks 🙂

  53. December 2, 2009 / 8:51 pm

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but your order should ship in 2 shipments. First will be the available items. If your order total is over $150 you will NOT be charged shipping even with the 2 shipments.

  54. December 2, 2009 / 8:57 pm

roxy is right! I had a tee on backorder that just came and was not charged shipping for it as the entire order total was over $150. The items that were in stock shipped immediately, and the backordered item came later. They were also very good about updating the status of the backorder via email.HTH!

  55. December 2, 2009 / 9:12 pm

I recently discovered this blog and I love it! I want to get the Habitual Dark Side Ava now that it's on sale, but I'm not sure what size to order. I went to my Anthro store, but apparently they don't carry it there. Any insights?

  56. December 2, 2009 / 9:16 pm

kornrose, I am curvy so take this with a grain of salt. I am true to size in Habitual's flares, boots and straight legs but size up in their skinnies.

  57. aurora
    December 2, 2009 / 9:21 pm

thank you SO much roxy and kater!! so helpful – going to place my order now! 🙂

  58. December 2, 2009 / 9:31 pm

Thanks roxy! That's generally my rule of thumb with skinnies, but it's so hard to know with the way denim stretches out.

  59. December 2, 2009 / 9:45 pm

wowi am in trouble. there are so many good deals it is hard to resist. are the prices any lower in store? I havent been able to get to any todayThanks for the update roxy!

  60. December 2, 2009 / 10:09 pm

roxyif you see the elodie in a medium would you let me know Thanks!Alison

    December 3, 2009 / 12:11 am

Roxy, what did you end up getting for today's sales?

  63. December 3, 2009 / 12:40 am

Stephanie, I have the Plaid Petal Skirt and Flight of Swans Dress in my cart but I have not pulled the trigger yet. I did get the Bengal Stripe Skirt in-store on super sale for $19.99 so that was cool. Did you buy anything?

  64. Stephanie
    December 3, 2009 / 1:23 am

The Plaid Petal Skirt is very pretty, I think it's totally you too. I like the Flight-Of-Swans Dress too its very pretty. I had it on my wishlist but I can only shop so much lol. I'm excited I got some things that have been on my wishlist for a while: Captured Knots Bag :D:D:D I wanted it so much, Foliage Fireworks Top not sure how it will fit on me I saw your review but I was intrigued, the Carmen Tieback, Drenched Helenium Tee, Paragon Top, and the Habitual Inky Mansfield pants I don't know how these pants will fit either. I'll just return things if they happen not to work out, unfortunately I don't have an Anthro near me.

  65. Stephanie
    December 3, 2009 / 1:28 am

Btw I had gotten the two Leifsdottir tops: Gulliver's Blouse and Seurat Posie Blouse at Nordstrom since they were already on sale, they were delivered today I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, the quality is amazing.

  66. December 3, 2009 / 1:32 am

Great buys! I love my Drenched Helenium Tee, so funny that you got the Paragon Top too as I was torn over those two. I think I will end up with the Paragon too. I am so mad about the Captured Knots Bag — I wanted it and didn't realize it went on sale today! Oh well, it's probably for the best. How is the fit on the Leifsdottir tops you got? I am in love with the Seurat Posie Blouse.

  67. December 3, 2009 / 1:45 am

Roxy, did your store have the Bengal skirt in a 0 or a 2? Thanks! 🙂

  68. Stephanie
    December 3, 2009 / 1:50 am

The Gulliver's Blouse fit true to size for me, I love the shoulder design, for the Seurat Posie Blouse I sized down – it happened by accident because Nordstrom had run out of my usual size so I figured I'd size down – turned out to be a good decision it fits well, the other size would have been too large. I love the colors a lot, very artsy, I would recommend it.

  69. Stephanie
    December 3, 2009 / 1:51 am

    I couldn't leave the Paragon behind 😀

  70. December 3, 2009 / 1:56 am

Katie — sadly no, just an 8. Rockefeller Center has a couple left but only a 6 and a 10. 5th Ave I'm not sure about.Stephanie — thanks for the sizing info!

  71. December 3, 2009 / 1:59 am

Boo — my store has had 8/10/12 for weeks, although I think they might be down to just one of those sizes now. If anyone finds a 0 or a 2 for the Bengal skirt, send me the store's number! That wasn't a skirt I could justify full price for, but I'd gladly pay $20! ;D My email is azelma (dot) roark (at) gmail (dot) com. (BTW — just bought the Flight of Swans dress, and I am so excited.)

    Your're welcome!

  73. December 3, 2009 / 2:52 am

not a sale item but for some reason I missed the hues unfolded cardi before and just discovered it. I think I am in love! Roxy have you seen this in-store yet? Does anyone have any input about it – i.e., is it worth getting on the waitlist for?

  74. December 3, 2009 / 3:01 am

kater, I have not. But I've been very please with Knitted & Knotted overall this year, so I expect to love it.

  75. December 3, 2009 / 3:10 am

To Roxy or anyone else :0), have you guys seen the ribbon candy tee in person (just wondering if it is really that shade IRL?)

  76. December 3, 2009 / 3:12 am

Ade – it's a lovely coral pink in real life. The product shot is pretty accurate. It's also really, really soft.

  77. December 3, 2009 / 3:17 am

    thanks roxy!

  78. December 3, 2009 / 3:19 am

thanks for the input on knitted & knotted this season roxy! I'm headed to the store on friday but one more question in case it isn't there – are their sweaters this season running big as usual? I sized down in the whirling ruffles dress, but haven't tried on any of the cardis…thank you for being such a font of anthro knowledge!!!

  79. December 3, 2009 / 3:22 am

kater I find the cardis to be TTS. This might be due to my bust though. (I also size down for their dresses.)

Hi Roxycalled cs and they foundit for me!Thanks for looking!

hi roxy! guess what, i guess in j crew style, anthro has "pop backs" too so i was able to get the belle of the ball dress in my size 🙂 i also ordered the studded fete dress, i know there were some bad reviews about it but i figured i'd try it out for myself and then decide. thanks so much for checking soho for me, i really appreciate it. xo

Awesome news tres tippy! I think you'll really like both dresses. By the way are you still loving your Plaid Petal Skirt? I am pretty sure I'm going to cave on that item.

Just called CS and they said Soho has 7 Elodie Lily left but when I put a call to the store, they had me on hold for over 30 minutes – a record, in my book – before I grudgingly gave up. Perhaps CS and stores are not in sync?Just curious if anyone has had similar experience.

jjc – absolutely, you can read about my similar experience here, or the long and short of it is that I waited on hold for 20 minutes. I'm suprised to hear that Soho has Elodie Lily's as I saw NONE there yesterday. They must be in the back. Be patient with Soho because they are crazy busy. They'll be jam packed until about 7 PM tonight. You might have better luck calling back later or if you want I can swing by after work and ask them directly. What size do you need?

hii~! yes i'm loving my plaid petal skirt! i found it to be quite comfy, and not itchy at all! i did size up to a 4 but you already are aware of the funky sizing and fit of the skirt! i'm not used to wearing higher waisted skirts. i wore a cardigan over it last time and felt a little frumpy (b/c the length of the cardigan looked weird w/ the skirt), so next time i'm going to pair it with a simple black merino turtleneck tucked in and maybe some boots instead of flats. i think you should get it, esp since it's on sale 😀

Roxy – thanks so much for the offer. Just checked back in – I've had better luck (knock on wood) with another store in CA. Btw, swung by the Rock Center store which is packed! I picked up the Horizon Line dress – they haven't put them on the floor yet but I'm glad I asked. Would love to see how you'd style it.
