Off the beaten path…J. Crew wedding dress

A little while ago I blogged about how I wish Anthropologie carried wedding dresses…and the resounding feedback was ‘hells no!’ (Fair enough.) Forgive me for bringing up the topic again, but when I saw the wedding window display above at J. Crew’s 5th Ave store in NYC this weekend I was blown away by how gorgeous it is! I do not see this dress on J. Crew’s website yet but couldn’t you see Anthro carrying something like this?

To me this dress screams East Egg wedding by way of The Great Gatsby. The accessories are pretty priceless too. The men’s suit may be bordering a bit on 1980s revisted for me but whosever wedding this is I hope I receive an invite!

I did not try this dress on (ha!) but I think it would be flattering on a variety of figures. Not timeless, but certainly beautiful. Clap clap to you, J. Crew. Well done.

Update: The gown is called the Tiered Analisa Gown ($3000) and I still love it.

I have mixed feelings on this dress. Although I love J. Crew & I'm sure this is quite lovely in person, I think it's so voluminous that it would add a lot of bulk to the bride's silhouette – something I don't think any bride wants.

It reminds me of the Shimmy Dress in many ways. I do like how the floral accents define a waist. I agree, it's hard to tell how it would look on a real person from the mannequin.

I actually really like it, but I've always loved wedding dresses that aren't run of the mill "strapless" a-lines. *wants to get married again and again and again so she can wear pretty dresses* 😀

I am with Chole. I want to get married again to wear another dress. I go by a bridal store when I walk my daughter to school. There have been a couple of dresses I would like to wear. I loved my first dress, but that was almost a decade ago. I jokingly tell my husband it's time for a recommitment ceremony (definitely not our thing) so I may buy and another dress.
